Economic Empowerment Strategies for Islamic Boarding Schools

Historically, pesantren have demonstrated their adaptability to changing times while maintaining their core identity. However, amidst globalization and economic challenges, pesantren must develop innovative and sustainable economic empowerment strategies. Economic empowerment in pesantren carries strategic significance in two key dimensions. First, it strengthens their financial independence, reducing reliance on donations or external funding. Second, it serves as a tool to empower students (santri) and surrounding communities with skills, economic access, and entrepreneurial opportunities.
